Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has assured new corps members posted to Kano State of their safety in th state.
The governor while speaking at the swearing -in ceremony of the 2015 Batch ’B’ Stream ( 1) Orientation Course held at the State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp, Kusalla Dam, Karaye at the weekend enjoined them to go about their national duties in the state without fear as the government has put in place necessary measures to guarantee their well-being and safety.
Ganduje who was represented by the commissioner for Information, Comrade Muhammed Garba, urged them to participate in the various skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development programmes designed by the government to make them self -reliant at the end of their service year.
“Let me assure you that government has created enabling environment for the achievement and full utilization of your abilities in all positive endearvours,” he said.
He noted that irrespective of their state of origin, the government was doing its best to galvanize and create sustainable employment opportunities for them in the public and private sectors of the state’s economy.
Earlier, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Abdullahi Yusuf Baba hinted that as at Friday 2, 400 corps members were registered for the orientation programme.
He stated that they were fast adapting to the camp environment, in high spirit and have conducted themselves in responsible manner since their arrival.
He however, reminded them that the camp accommodates people of different cultures and religious backgrounds, saying, “Absolute tolerance and understanding should be your watch word.”
